My Attempt at Songwriting in Senior Year: “I Can’t Let You Go”

We grew up close together,

We’ve known each other for years,

My wish is to be friends forever,

Perhaps the source of all my fears.

We’ve always been friends only,

But I still feel somewhat jealous,

When new guys come into your life,

I just can’t stand those fellas.

Now, don’t get me wrong,

They’re nice enough I know,

The problem’s not that they’re so bad,

The problem lies in me,

I’ve known you so long,

It pains me just to know

That someday he’ll take you from me,

And I just can’t let you go.
